How can I volunteer with Parks and Recreation?: We are always looking for volunteers for special events, work in the community garden, coaching and more. Please fill out the volunteer form (PDF).

1. How do I register for a class, program, or athletics event?: You can register online here or visit the Community Center.

2. Where is the Clayton Community Center?: The Community Center is located at 715 Amelia Church Road, at the corner of Amelia Church Road and Shotwell Road.

3. What amenities does the Community Center offer?: The Community Center has an indoor walking track, full basketball gym, multipurpose room, art and pottery classroom, and childcare space. We also have light free weights and a limited number of elliptical and stationary bikes.

4. How do I join the Clayton Community Center?: To join the community Center you will need to stop by the front desk with a copy of your driver's license and a utility bill. Check out our membership page for more details!

5. What are the hours at the Clayton Community Center?: Monday through Friday, 7 am to 9 pm; Saturday, 8 am to 4 pm; and Sunday, 1 pm to 5 pm.

6. How do I know if I am a resident of the Town of Clayton?: All Town residents pay Clayton City taxes and receive utility bills from the Town of Clayton. Not all people with Clayton addresses are in the Town limits. There are numerous unincorporated areas of Johnston County that have Clayton addresses but are not in the Town of Clayton. Visit this map and enter your address to find out if you're in the Town of Clayton limits and service area. 7. Where can I find athletic schedules and other information?: Schedules, Rules, Coaches Information, and Field Conditions can be found at Quickscores.

8. Do I have to have a membership to take classes or participate in athletics?: No.

9. When is Open Gym time for the basketball court at Clayton Community Center?: Please check the monthly open gym calendar as times do vary.

10. How do I report a concern on a trail, park or greenway?: Please contact the Clayton Community Center with any concerns at 919-553-1550. If it is an emergency, please call 911.

11. I have a great idea for a program or class. Who should I contact?: Please contact the Program Coordinator at 919-553-1550.

13. Does the Town of Clayton have a Swimming Pool?: At this time, the Town does not operate any swimming pools.

14. Does the town have a dog park?: Yes, the Town has a Dog Park across from East Clayton Park at 2027 Glen Laurel Road.

15. How do I sponsor a ball team or special event?: We would love to talk with you about sponsoring a ball team or event: please contact the Community Center at 919-553-1550.

16. How do I rent a ballfield or basketball court?: Fields and courts are available for rentals around Clayton. For availability and information, please contact our Athletic Supervisor at 919-553-1551.

17. Can I reserve a picnic shelter?: Yes, Picnic Shelter Rentals are available at All-Star, Community Park and East Clayton Community Park. Contact the Community Center for availability and information at 919-553-1550.

18. Where are the Tennis Courts in Town?: There are six tennis courts at Clayton Community Park on Amelia Church Road.

19. Where are the parks and trails in town and how long is each trail?: Parks and trails are marked on this map (PDF).

20. Why are bathrooms sometimes closed?: During the winter months, water is turned off in some of the park facilities to prevent the pipes from freezing.

22. Can I fish in the pond at Clayton Community Park?: Fishing is allowed with a current NC Fishing license. Chemicals are occasionally added to the pond for weed control, therefore we require fishermen to catch and release.
