Your Safety

Is your home safe? Is your family safe? It all begins with understanding.

Clayton Fire Department's Life Safety information is designed to provide you with the tools and knowledge you need to prevent fires and emergencies before they happen, and live safely at home and work. Outside of fighting fires, our Clayton Fire Department feels very strongly about educating the public on safety around fires.

Sparky the Fire DogIn Your Home

Do you know what you need to do when a fire breaks out in your home? We do, and we want to help to make sure that all the families in our area are as safe as they can be. One of the first things we suggest for families to learn about is Fire Safety Tips (PDF). This is a great brochure that you can print out and go over with all of the members of your family. To help educate kids on the importance of being safe around fire, Sparky the Fire Dog helps us out! Learn all about Sparky. Sparky lets kids know how important it is to have a Home Fire Escape Plan and how important it is to have a Family Fire Checklist (PDF). It is best to go over this checklist with your children and practice. It is a great way to ensure that everyone is safe! We have a handy brochure, Children and Fire Don't Mix! (PDF), that gives parents help determining if their child has a fire-setting behavior.
