The Town of Clayton Police Department is proud to announce the awarding of the Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate to one of our officers. In accord with the criteria established by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission, Officer Scott Holzshu was approved for their Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate by a vote of the full Commission.

The Commission’s Professional Certificate Program is designed to reward and recognize officers who continually strive to better themselves professionally, by attending various schools and training sessions, above and beyond what is currently mandated by the State of North Carolina. Officers must also have several years of full-time experience as well. The certificate is the highest such honor awarded by the State, and recognizes education, training and experience by the recipient.
Officer Scott Holzshu is an 11-year police veteran, serving with the WakeMed Campus Police as Deputy Chief before joining the Clayton PD in 2007. Officer Holzshu has been recognized by the department for his exemplary service and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.
