On Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 1245 pm Clayton Police Officers received a call from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, CA in response to checking the residence at 2056 Deer Trail, Clayton for a wanted person from California; a male subject at the residence was wanted on a parole violation. Officers located the suspect inside the residence and identified him as John Regets.  A foot pursuit ensued resulting in the suspect fleeing into a wooded area behind this residence towards Cooper Elementary School. For safety precautions the school was asked to lock down the facility until the suspect was apprehended. Shortly thereafter, the suspect was taken into custody without further incident and no injuries were sustained.  Cooper Elementary was taken off of lock down.  Arrested was:

John Joesph Regets, W/M, 34, 2056 Deer Trail, Clayton NC.

The fugitive is being held in the Johnston County Detention Center on a Fugitive Warrant pending extradition to California.
